AM Pilot Factory
AIMEN Tecnology Centre, Porriño, Pontevedra (Spain)
Our open & digitised AM pilot facility enables the realisation of testing and experimentation activities for the manufacturing sector (new processes, materials, quality assessment, etc.), as well as development and implementation of novel technologies linked to the AM domain (monitoring solutions, control systems, data-based approaches, etc.).
The AM Pilot Factory provides open access to facilities and equipment (metal, polymeric, multimaterial) for the development and validation of sustainable processes and technologies oriented to different sectors. Automated, sensorised and fully digitalised infrastructure capable of complex monitoring and control strategies deployment. The facility materialises the long-term effort of both hardware and data interoperability (modular and reconfigurable Plug-and-Produce systems), avoiding the dependence on proprietary solutions and enabling data elaboration and exploitation strategies based on AI as a leveraging factor for manufacturing flexibility and efficiency, as well as providing cognitive and physical support to the operator.
-
D - Process monitoring, Decision Support Systems for new materials composition, real-time control systems for AM processes.
R - Asset modelling based on Asset Administration Shell, datasets for AM processes.
B - EU, national, regional project development and open facilities on AM processes.
E - Laser manufacturing brokerage event
S - Training Program for Digital Battery Passport
T - Sustainability and circularity from design to EoL. -
The DaCapo demonstrator tool enables seamless hardware and data interoperability in eliminating reliance on proprietary solutions. By leveraging AI-driven data analysis, the facility enhances manufacturing flexibility and operational efficiency, while also offering cognitive and physical support to human operators.
