DaCapo consortium gathers in Oulu: Pioneering digital and circular manufacturing in Europe

By Eleni Natsi (CORE)

The DaCapo Consortium gathered in Oulu, Finland on June 20th and 21st for the sixth-month project meeting. During this meeting, the consortium partners provided comprehensive updates on their tasks, engaged in discussions about progress, addressed specific challenges, and planned the next steps.

The first day primarily focused on presentations by representatives from various partners, covering different work packages and conducting specific workshops for the three use cases. DaCapo aims to demonstrate its commercial and replicability potential in critical EU manufacturing sectors, including aeronautics, smartphones (ICT & consumer electronics), and warehousing (logistics, including construction).

Representatives from GKN, Pesmel, and Fairphone analysed the project requirements for these three use cases. The day concluded with a social dinner in the city of Oulu, providing partners with the opportunity to socialize, network, and foster stronger connections.

The second day centered around further presentations on work packages and included discussions on similar projects, such as Circpass and CircThread, presented by their respective coordinators. The objective was to explore synergies, exchange views, and foster collaboration with ongoing projects to cultivate a robust ecosystem of relevant stakeholders around the outcomes of the DaCapo project.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to VTT for hosting and organizing our meeting flawlessly.

Stay tuned for more updates on the groundbreaking DaCapo project as we pave the way for a digital and circular European manufacturing!
